The Helena students have been busy the last two weekends! We started our fundraising efforts at the Jim Darcy Craft Show, where face painting was the hit of the day. Who knew?
Black Friday saw the students braving the weather in front of Leslie's Hallmark in an effort to sell tickets for the Truck Raffle. They survived by rotating shifts from Leslie's to Wholesale Sports, where we wrapped presents (at a table indoors, thank goodness) for those intrepid Black Friday shoppers.
Last night we hosted a table at the East Helena Christmas Stroll. It was a mad crush of people, but plenty of fun. The amount of goods these kids have gathered in such a short time is very impressive. From hand-painted wine glasses to a hand-crafted quilt, from baked goods to home decor, I think we have it all!
So where are we this weekend? You can find us at Wal-Mart on Saturday from 10-4 selling raffle tickets and at the Holiday Open House at Jorgenson's Inn & Suites, also from 10-4. Raffle tickets will also be available, as well as jewelry, crochet items, decor, food and more. To promote the international flavor of our goal, traditional Spanish Christmas pastries will be available. And we'll have edible snowmen, too!
If you'd like to support these kids but can't make it to any events, send an email to helenapeopletopeople@gmail.com, or make a donation through our secure & verified Paypal account. The link is available under our logo on the blog home page.
